The Show

This Week in Germany (or TWIG as it is affectionately called) is a weekly blog and monthly podcast for anyone in the world with an interest in German culture, society and politics. 

The Crew

TWIG is written and presented each week by Daniel Winter. 

Daniel is a TV journalist and business news anchor for DW News, who has lived and worked in Germany since 2007. He's previously worked at other German public TV stations, starting out with an internship at SWR in Stuttgart, then as a production assistant for MDR Aktuell in Leipzig.

Germany is a federal parliamentary republic in western-central Europe. The country consists of 16 states.

Germany covers an area of 357,021 square kilometres (137,847 sq mi) and has a largely temperate seasonal climate. With 80.6 million inhabitants, it is the most populous member state in the European Union.
